Testimonials
Dr Doug Thake, Senior Lecturer, Department of Biomolecular and Sports Sciences, Coventry University The Sirius luminometer is so compact and robust that it endured the rigors of transport, by air, bus and foot both to and from the remote ‘Hidden Valley' in the Nepal Himalaya; as well as a environmental temperatures ranging between +30 to -20 degrees during its journey. The Sirius enabled the measurement of human immune cell activation at rest and after exercise in the field at 5000 m, a measurement that would usually only be possible in a laboratory environment. This novel application was part of a study designed to investigate immunity and oxidative stress in sea level residents on a sojourn to high altitude.

With pleasure I grasp the opportunity to thank you for the always prompt and competent technical support- and the efficient costumer-friendly service and last but not least for the Sirius- 2 luminometer. We use Sirius-2 for the quantitative determination of oxidative burst and phagocytosis in monocytes, macrophages and dendritic cells and for the quantification of haemichromes in red blood cells. The luminometer is easy to use, robust and allows the reliable sensitive measurement with protocols that demand automatic short-interval double-injections. Sirius run in large scale experiments in a 4-year endemic study that asked highly frequent injection pump activity for hours a day without technical problems.
Prof. Dr. Edgar Peiter, Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg Institut für Agrar- und Ernährungswissenschaften - Pflanzenernährung - 06108 Halle (Saale) Germany We are using the Sirius for aequorin-based measurements of calcium kinetics in plants and yeast. Sensitivity, versatility and ease of use of this luminometer are impressive. The technical support in adapting the instrument to our specific needs was fabulous.
Dr Kevin Slater, Chief Executive PetScreen Ltd Nottingham UK Having worked with most luminometers during the course of my career, I can safely say that the Orion is the most robust and reliable instrument around. Having used Orion's in my former business, it was a very easy decision to purchase another for my current company. That was over three years ago and we have not experienced a single problem during this time.
Richard Brown, Molecular Light Technologies, Cardiff Wales The Orion II is performing very well: we have lent it to a large pharma company who are using it at the moment to evaluate one of our products that requires 384 well AE flash measurement. They are very pleased with it and it is performing well with no problems under quite a high workload.
Anca Gafencu, Principal Researcher, Institute of Cellular Biology and Pathology "Nicolae Simionescu" Bucharest, Romania / Center of Excellency of the EU Community If I would need to move my lab up to the Moon … and if I would be allowed to take only THREE instruments with me there … I would definitely take the FB12 with me! |
